Thanks!
But you said that the error I've got that device file /dev/openfc does not exist is a common error in target,
how can I solve this problem, and what's the reason of this error!
I checked my NIC,and I'm sure the devices surport pause both in initiator and target sides.

Hi Melodygh,

I would presume that the setup has not got into the target
device specific initialization part yet. Rather it does not seem to have
crossed the FLOGI State [From your description that FLOGI was the only
packet seen in the traces]".

The error you are getting after fcconf eth1 enable fcconf:
device file /dev/openfc does not exist- check udev and rules, is a
common error in target side.

The error 17 will come when you are enabling the device 2nd time
with out removing module (fcoe) and if NIC not supporting flow control
mechanism.

Check the device flow control (Tx and Rx) on both initiator and
Target sides.

Thanks

Hi,
I used vdisk as FCoE's target device.
I did as follow in target:
mkfs.ext3 /dev/ram0
echo "open vdisk0 /dev/ram0 WRITE_THROUGH" > /proc/scsi_tgt/vdisk/vdisk
echo "add vdisk0 0" > /proc/scsi_tgt/groups/Default/devices
scstadmin -WriteConfig /etc/scst.config

+++++++
Target:
+++++++
[root at localhost scstadmin]# fcconf eth1 enable
fcconf: device file /dev/openfc does not exist- check udev and rules
[root at localhost scstadmin]# fcconf eth1 enable
fcconf: fcc_fcoe_config: FCoE create of eth1 failed
fcconf: fcc_fcoe_config: error 17 (null)
fcconf: fcc_fcoe_config: exiting at fcc_fcoe.c:142

[root at localhost scstadmin]# fcconf
Name WWPN FC-ID FC Network
eth0 20:00:00:30:48:90:a0:e8 0 No HBA DOWN
eth1 20:00:00:30:48:90:a0:e9 0 No HBA UP

I capture the frames with wireshark when I connected target to
initiator, there isnt any frames except FLOGI both in target and
initator. Is that means the target layer did not work at all? We used
Intel 82573L NIC.(Also, we changed the hardware but it doesn't work).

What can we do to resolve this problem?
Thanks.

Last time I seen error like this when I NIC didn't support pause frames,
you
might want to check the problem at mentioned source code line no.
